Getting Started
There are a number of things you need to do to get the system up and running. I have tried to make it as simple as possible but unfortunately making it plug and play is not possible, not least due to the variation of Speeduino boards available. If you install the software and boot it you will see a demo mode complete with internally played back data. To get data from your own ECU you will need to carry out the following tasks:
- Connect the Pi’s serial port safely to the Speeduino’s secondary serial port
- Install the software on a blank SD card
- Possibly enter some initial configuration parameters
- Optionally configure WIFI support if you have either a Pi Zero W, Zero 2W, or Pi3.
- Optionally (but recommended, if you are using datalogging) set up Controlled Shutdown
After that you should be able to boot the Pi and see data coming from the ECU.
